After minimal research I discovered that the look I'm going for is called Board and Batten. Typically, 12" boards would be attached to the wall vertically and the seams would be covered by 1" strips of wood. That is called the "batten". The first photo is my inspiration. Last night, after the kids went to bed we worked on step two of the project which was getting all of the batten up on the wall. We didn't finish until 10:30pm, but it was worth it to get this part finished!
Today, after I get home from finishing my clients bedroom, I will prime out the whole thing. It is going to make such a huge difference in this room!Oh, and a HUGE thanks to my Handy Man for all of the help!
