I have found a new Fall interest this year.

Corn Husk Wreaths

I don't think I have ever seen these before, but while browsing Etsy I stumbled upon these from

The Keepers' House

I think they are beautiful...

She added the tassels from the stalks on this one...

So pretty!

And priced between just $15 and $25, they look well worth the money!

But...me being me, I started thinking...

Could I just make one myself?

Then good ole' Google led me to Suzanne...

A full post, complete with a How-To!

You have got to check out her tips on making your own. She gives clear step-by-step instructions and tells you exactly where to buy husks this time of year.

Thank you, Suzanne!

Martha has a tutorial for her version of a Harvest Wreath...

I like hers too!

But I gotta' say, I think I like the untamed version from The Keepers' House better...

So when it comes to seasonal wreaths, where do you stand?

Easier to buy pre-made? Or worth the effort of DIY?

Many thanks to MikeyNice for including us in his great list (called "Grape Expectations") of handmade, wine inspired items...

And a huge thank you to Jaime, at Our Journey, for giving me the heads up about it.
(I would have missed it, had you not let me know! XO)

Head on over to Etsy and check out "Grape Expectations".

Happy browsing!

Happy Sunday...

It is the final day of our

5 Days Of Giveaway's Party

to celebrate our 1st birthday here at

It's The Little Things...

and we couldn't think of a better way to mark the occasion than by giving a little piece of ourselves, to you. As you know, we've always got a project going on around here, and at the core of it all, helping me turn my vision into a reality, is Will's time and effort, taking care of all the carpentry out in his shop. I couldn't make half of the things I do in our home happen without his support and carpentry skills.

But this time, instead of building something for me, he's going to build for you!

The giveaway gift for today is a

$150.00 Gift Certificate

to spend in our Etsy shop - Home Restyle - where we sell our

Reproduction Antique Riddling Racks

I discovered Riddling Racks earlier this year and immediately knew that it was exactly the kind of "wow factor" I was looking for in our (then) dining room.

But the price of genuine Antique Riddling Racks stopped me in my tracks! The price tag of $650.00 (and up to well over $1000.00) plus tax and shipping, made even the thought of having one of our own, an impossibility.

Luckily, I have my own carpenter...

It took only a small amount of convincing to get Will on board with the idea, and by the next day (and tons of saw dust and wood shavings later), we had a brand new Riddling Rack. But...brand new was not what I was going for. I wanted old. Beat up, old. So that's what we did. After quite a bit of distressing, I applied several layers of finish to give the overall color tons of variation and depth, making it look aged and rustic.

It has been on display in our home ever since, and it is one of my favorite things we own. The best part - that it was handmade by Will. It no longer hangs in our dining room (that's now a bedroom), but I found the perfect spot for it in our

Now, instead of holding wine bottles, it holds candle light.

Take a look at how we have used ours over the past 8 months and get a closer look at the details...

Our Reproduction Antique Riddling Racks hold 36 bottles of wine. They are just shy of 2' wide and just over 3' tall.

Head over to our Etsy shop - Home Restyle - to get all of the details.

Once again, this giveaway is our way of saying "Thank You" to all of you!

You make our online journaling more than just a place to collect our projects and inspiration.

You make this a truly, fun place to be!

Here is all you need to do to enter:

Leave us a comment telling us what you would do with a Reproduction Antique Riddling Rack of your own.

Would you keep it for yourself? Is it just the "wow factor" that you've been looking for?

Or would you give it away to a friend or loved one? Maybe as a gift to the "wine connoisseur" in your family? I must say, I would be thrilled to receive a Riddling Rack as a Christmas gift!

How about a third?

If you've been blogging for any length of time, you know that once in a while you stumble upon a blog that grabs your attention in a way that others don't. There's just something unique about it that keeps bringing you back...

You know what I mean, right?

Well, that's exactly how I feel about Tara.

She's that kind of blogger!

So when she contacted me and said that she wanted to be the first to sponsor It's The Little Things... I was overjoyed!

Not only does she have a fantastic blog, but she went and opened up a cute, little shop on Etsy called

Tara's Vintage Kitchen

Tara and her mom shop for great vintage finds together, gather them all up in their shop, and let us browse and buy!

They find the best stuff!

Take a look...

Vintage Metal Scale

(that aqua is gorgeous, no?)

Vintage Silver Plated Butter Dish

(all I can think of is how pretty this would be sitting on the Thanksgiving table!)

Adorable Pale Yellow Ceramic Teapot

(adorable, indeed!)

Vintage Silver Plated Trivet

(so pretty!)

Set of 4 Vintage Cookie Cutters

(I love those green, wooden handles)

Vintage Seltzer/Syphon Bottle

(love this!)

Vintage Nordic Ware 6 Cup Bundt Cake Pan

(LOVE this!)

Vintage Red and White Sailor Half Apron

(sooo cute!)

Have you picked a favorite?

Clearly, I can't!

So there's something you don't know about me.

I'm a sucker for vintage black and white enamelware.

It all started when Will and I lived in Vermont back in 1998.

(Something else you didn't know!)

My enamelware collection lines the tops of my cabinets in my kitchen, just as it has in every house we've lived in since leaving Vermont,

so when I saw these, I was hooked...

Vintage White Enamelware Pitcher

and...

White Enamelware Stock Pot

Love. Love. Love.

I know - I used the "L" word three, four, five....ten, twelve times...

I am quite fond of Tara's Vintage Kitchen!

But before there was a Tara's Vintage Kitchen, there was just
Blondie 'N' SC.

The place where Tara blogs about all things vintage, girly and ruffly.

Her photos are gorgeous!

She invites us into her home...

...and has even let us peek into her parents' home...

(which is nothing short of stunning, I might add!)

She shows us around San Clemente, and takes us to the beach to photograph the local scenery...

(and not always just the landscape!)

(Mmm...nice, right?)

But don't let all of the ruffles fool you. Tara is extremely honest and, at times, wears her heart on her sleeve - one of the qualities I find most endearing about her. She allows herself to be vulnerable and gives us a window into her past, all while humoring us with tales about "the punk" and "the pool man".

Behind all of it is the lovely, kind-hearted, bright and energetic Tara!

She's too cute!

Be sure to visit Blondie 'N' SC and let her know you stopped by!

Tell her Karla says "hello"

;)

And be sure to come back on Sunday, October 11th, for a Giveaway from

Tara's Vintage Kitchen!

It's a good one!
